Friday: Arrival + Food Carts + Forest Park Sunset

Afternoon:Settle in around the Pearl District or SE Hawthorne—two neighborhoods with completely different personalities but both full of character. If you're feeling fancy, book a room at The Hoxton or Jupiter NEXT for a boutique feel.

Evening:Walk or rideshare to the 10th & Alder food cart pod downtown. Grab something from Stretch the Noodle or Viking Soul Food and enjoy it picnic-style at Director Park.

Sunset Spot:Drive or bike up to Pittock Mansion for a panoramic view of Portland framed by Mt. Hood. On clear evenings, it’s unbeatable.

Saturday: Coffee, Culture, and the Great Outdoors

Morning:Start with a pour-over at Good Coffee or Coava Coffee Roasters. Then head to Washington Park for a breath of nature. Choose from the Portland Japanese Garden, Hoyt Arboretum, or a hike in Forest Park.

Midday:Visit the Portland Art Museum or browse Powell’s City of Books—plan for at least an hour inside; it’s easy to get lost in the stacks.

Lunch:Hit Nong’s Khao Man Gai or Grassa in the West End. Both are local favorites with fast service and high flavor.

Afternoon:Explore NW 23rd Ave for boutique shopping or cross the river to the Eastside for vintage shops and murals on Alberta Street. If the weather’s nice, rent an e-bike and cruise the Eastbank Esplanade.

Evening:Dinner at Eem (Thai BBQ + cocktails) or Lovely’s Fifty Fifty (wood-fired pizza + soft serve). If you’re into craft beer, check out Breakside Brewery or Migration Brewing after.

Nightcap:Catch live music at Mississippi Studios or sip a cocktail at Teardrop Lounge. Portland’s nightlife is more chill than wild—perfect for unwinding.

Sunday: Slow Morning + Last-Minute Finds

Morning:Ease into your day with brunch at Jam on Hawthorne or Tusk (reservations recommended). Order anything with seasonal veggies—they do them right here.

Late Morning:Walk through the Portland Saturday Market (it runs Sunday too!) or check out the Portland Farmers Market at PSU if it’s open. Grab a final souvenir from MadeHere PDX or Tender Loving Empire.

Optional Last Stop:If you have time before heading out, make a stop at Cathedral Park in St. Johns. The towering bridge and riverside setting are a peaceful way to end the trip.
